For the second year running, we are commissioning an up and coming artist to produce a body of work to celebrate the festive season whilst reflecting the diversity of the winter programme at mac. This year, regional designer maker, Sian Hindle has been selected. Her inspirational ideas to create a series of striking, suspended, calligraphic, cylindrical forms will undoubtedly transform the space. These objects will be developed from several workshops where visitors will be able to develop a short, haiku-like, poem on the theme of family. Their written thoughts and ideas will feed directly into the final pieces.
